Key Atalanta star ruled out of Barcelona clash through injury | OneFootball

Serie A outfit Atalanta will be forced to make do without a leading member of their attacking ranks for the club’s upcoming showdown with Barcelona.

The final round of fixtures in the newly-introduced league format in the Champions League are of course set to play out tomorrow night.

Amongst the highlights of the round comes a meeting between the aforementioned pairing of Barcelona and Atalanta, two of the continent’s standout attacking entities.

As alluded to above, though, in efforts to spring a surprise on their hosts in Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday, the latter will not be able to call on a standout member of Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.

This comes amid confirmation that Ademola Lookman has been condemned to an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Nigerian international Lookman is in the midst of another fine season to date, which has seen him rack up 14 goals and seven assists across all competitions.

As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, though:

‘Ademola Lookman has suffered a knee injury and he will miss Barça game as well as more games in Serie A.’
