Roma midfielder Manu Koné joined France’s training camp on Monday.

With less than a month to go until the next Derby della Capitale with Lazio, Koné reflected on the first leg which saw Roma win the derby as well as him getting to a fight with France teammate Matteo Guendouzi.

“It was the atmosphere of the derby that made us overdo it a bit,” he told L’Equipe.

“I talked about this match with Mattéo during all the previous meetings. We were laughing, even with the coach: ‘Hey, the Rome derby will be tough!’. Then what happened happened. I accept it with a smile.”

“It’s true that it’s not a nice image, but it’s still a football match. Especially with Mattéo we explained things immediately afterwards. I called him and the matter was resolved.”
