Ex-Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia says the ‘project’ convinced him to join his new club PSG and reveals he spoke with Italy international Gigio Donnarumma before completing his transfer.
Napoli and PSG confirmed Kvaratskhelia’s transfer on Friday.
“The project is what convinced me to come here. I know what the club wants to achieve and how it works with players,” the Georgian ace told PSG TV.
“It’s in line with who I am, a lot of great players have played here, so I didn’t think much about it when I had the opportunity to come to Paris.”
“I know some of the players, yes. Fabian (Ruiz), who I played with at Napoli. And I know Gigio (Donnarumma), who I spoke with before joining Paris Saint-Germain.”

Kvara will work with ex-Roma coach Luis Enrique in Paris.
“He’s one of the best coaches in the world, I know I’m going to learn a lot working with him, and I’m very happy to become a player coached by Luis Enrique,” said the Georgian star.
Several sources claim PSG invested over €70m to secure Kvaratskhelia’s services.
The Georgian star had joined the Partenopei for barely €13m from Dinamo Batumi in 2022, winning the Serie A title in his first season at the club. In that same season, he was named as the best player in the league.
The 23-year-old scored 30 goals in 107 appearances with the Partenopei.
Napoli showed gratitude to their former star on social media after confirming his move to Paris.
Kvaratskhelia has signed a contract until June 2029 at the Parc des Princes.
He had scored five goals and provided three assists in 19 appearances across all competitions with Napoli in the first part of 2024-25.
