Lamine Yamal keeps his word as two Barcelona icons engage in a memorable interaction after the 4-3 win over Real Madrid | OneFootball

Although one can argue that this has been the case for the entirety of the season, FC Barcelona have played some truly blockbuster games in the last few weeks.

One such game was the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie against Inter Milan, which ended in a 3-3 draw at Montjuic. In this game, it was the youngster Lamine Yamal who impressed the most and drew praise from media outlets around the world.

He also talked to a British television program after that game, an event which brought him face to face virtually with a former Barcelona forward, Thierry Henry.

During this interaction, the Frenchman asked Yamal for his shirt for his son. Replying to this request, the Spaniard proposed a deal:

“We have to do a trade. I’ll give you mine, and you give me yours. From Barça, Arsenal… whichever you want.”

Yamal keeps his word

Henry was present at the Montjuic yesterday as Barcelona faced Real Madrid in a crucial La Liga tie. The Blaugranes emerged victorious in this game with a 4-3 scoreline, and Yamal was once again immense, as he scored the second goal for his side.

Furthermore, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the youngster also met Henry after the game, and the two individuals materialised the deal they had proposed after the game against Inter Milan.

Meeting in the Luis Companys locker room, the two individuals swapped their shirts. Yamal gave the Frenchman his shirt from this El Clasico, while Henry gave the youngster one of his Barcelona shirts.

They also signed the shirts that they gave to one another. Yamal left a message for the Blaugrana legend, which ran as: “For the legend, the ‘killer’ Henry — you’re a star.”

On the other hand, Henry’s message for the youngster went as: “For Lamine, with all my appreciation. You’re a star.”

This was quite a heart-rending moment for Barcelona fans as they saw two of their icons interact in a memorable way. But more significantly, this interaction showcases how big a star Lamine Yamal has gone to become in the last two years, and hopefully, he will only go on to grow further in the coming years.
