The current FC Barcelona team has a very balanced blend of youth and experience in their ranks, and one can argue this is what makes them so successful on the pitch.
Experienced players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Iñigo Martínez are present on the pitch to provide guidance and leadership in difficult moments to young players like Alejandro Balde, Pau Cubarsí, and Lamine Yamal, etc.
Still, it is the youngsters who raise the most excitement among the fans, and the winger Lamine Yamal is perhaps the most entertaining footballer in this squad.
In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, the 17-year-old winger participated in a quick-fire question round, where he was asked to name his three favorite players outside of FC Barcelona. Yamal’s choices were Jamal Musiala, Neymar, and Savinho.
When pressed to pick one player from the trio whom he would sign, Yamal responded with a cheeky remark: “You want me to say Neymar… but no: Musiala, since he has a contract.”
Jamal Musiala has previously been linked with the Catalan club, and the German wonderkid has also expressed admiration for Barcelona icons. However, signing him now would be nearly impossible, as he recently renewed his contract with Bayern Munich until 2030.
Furthermore, being a key part of Vincent Kompany’s team, the Bavarians would not be too keen to part ways with him any time soon.
Still, it is easy to understand why Yamal named Musiala for this honor. The German midfielder is undoubtedly one of the most talented players of his generation and can go on to become one of the best players in the world. But for this, he will have to compete with Yamal, who is showing an even better career trajectory.
