In terms of someone who all Leicester City fans will hope remains at the club for a long time to come, Jeremy Monga would be at the top of any list. Other clubs may be interested in acquiring certain players from the relegation-bound Foxes side.
The prospect of potentially losing the 15-year-old would take away one of the few bright spots of the club from this past season. The interest is understandable. Since making his Premier League debut, he saw an increased run against Southampton during City's 2-0 win. The teenager showed an ability to be physical and confident on the ball as well as a willingness to go forward and play within a senior-level side.
Unfortunately for LCFC supporters, everyone else can see the talent of the young attacking player. In an exclusive to Sportsboom, the media outlet confirms the high interest of Chelsea in Monga. It's typical for clubs throughout all of their sides to constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve their roster. The interest itself is understandable enough. It does appear that Enzo Maresca would like to take the promising talent from the East Midlands and have Monga follow him to London.
Funny enough, City's current form could end up being the main reason why Monga sticks with the Foxes. Certainly, with time, he'd be able to play in the first team at a club. Right now, he'd get continued run and training with the LCFC first team. Taking on defenders in the Championship will be more of a showcase for the teenager compared to being another player in the academy system with the Blues.
In a clip that has falsely attributed Monga to declaring that he will definitely stay at City, a part of that TikTok Live does provide something of an insight. During that conversation, he did mention that the No. 10 role is 'his position.'
So far under Ruud van Nistelrooy, he has been lined up on the outside. If his goal is to be more of a central attacking midfielder, this too would come easier and sooner at LCFC. Particularly with the potential departures from the club, which will still be one of the better Championship sides in England, Monga could carve a nice role for himself at King Power Stadium for the foreseeable future.
