Enzo Maresca takes high-flying Blues to former club as Premier League returns

Chelsea are back in Premier League action this weekend, with a trip to Leicester next on the agenda.

Enzo Maresca has impressed since leaving the Foxes for the Blues over the course of the summer and returns to the King Power Stadium with his team in third.

Pedro Neto’s goal ensured a 1-1 draw against Arsenal before the break and three points on Saturday would put Chelsea just a point behind Manchester City in second.

Still, recent draws and going out of the Carabao Cup at Newcastle do offer a reminder that Maresca’s Chelsea remain a work in progress.

Leicester, meanwhile, sit the highest of the promoted sides but are without a win in their last three games, losing 3-0 to Manchester United before the break.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Leicester vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 12.30pm GMT kick-off time on Saturday 23 November, 2024.

The King Power Stadium in Leicester will host.

Leicester vs Chelsea team news

The Foxes will hope to welcome back the likes of Jamie Vardy, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Patson Daka and Jakub Stolarczyk for the visit of the Blues. Ricardo Pereira, Jordan Ayew and Issahaku Fatawu are all likely to miss out, however.

Chelsea have been handed a number of big boosts before the return to domestic action. Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill both pulled out of the England squad over the break but are back in training with the Blues, along with Jadon Sancho after his recent bout of illness.

Leicester vs Chelsea prediction

Leicester have arguably exceeded expectations during the early stage of the season but do appear to have hit a slump recently. With that in mind, it’s difficult to look past Chelsea – who will no doubt be strong favourites anyway.
