L’Équipe and The Telegraph had earlier relayed that Wolverhampton Wanderers had returned to their pursuit of RC Lens’ centre-back Kevin Danso (26). Wolves had earlier attempted to convince Danso to join them this month, however, he reportedly rejected their advances.
The two outlets write that the Premier League side have now submitted a €19 million offer for the defender. However, according to an update from Foot Mercato, Les Sang et Or have rejected Wolves’ bid which they report to be slightly higher at €22 million (including bonuses). Lens do not want to lose Danso during the season despite being close to allowing him to leave over the summer.
However, the situation has changed dramatically for the Northern side in the last few weeks. Lens have already lost two key components during the winter transfer window with Abdukodir Khusanov and former captain Brice Samba both leaving for big-money moves to Manchester City and Stade Rennais.
