Slot makes changes for second leg showdown
Liverpool tonight meet Tottenham in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, with Curtis Jones and Conor Bradley both starting.
The Reds trail Spurs by one goal following last month’s defeat in north London, although Arne Slot’s side will surely be confident about their chances of reaching Wembley.
Still, Slot will be without one of his key players for the game.
Trent Alexander-Arnold misses the visit of Spurs, having asked to come off when taking a knock during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday. Bradley replaces the England international.
Caoimhin Kelleher gets the nod in goal, with Alisson Becker not in the squad, while Jones starts alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai in midfield.
Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo join Mohamed Salah in the front three, meaning Luis Diaz has to settle for a place on the bench at Anfield.
Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez
Subs: Jaros, Endo, Diaz, Mac Allister, Chiesa, Elliott, Jota, Tsimikas, Quansah
Time and date: 8pm GMT tonight on Thursday 6 February, 2025
Venue: Anfield
TV channel and live stream: Sky Sports, ITV
