Manchester United are looking for a third consecutive victory in all competitions when they host Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils managed an impressive ten-player penalty shootout victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round last weekend, followed by a less than impressive 3-1 win over bottom of the table Southampton in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

United were met with a chorus of boos at half-time against the Saints as they found themselves a goal behind against the division's lowest scorers, but Amad Diallo's 12-minute hat-trick late in the match secured an important if unconvincing victory.

The Red Devils have lost their last two Old Trafford duels with Brighton and were beaten at the American Express Stadium back in August following Joao Pedro's 95th-minute winner.

Here is how United could line up for a crucial clash.

GK: Andre Onana - One of the few who left Old Trafford with his dignity on Thursday evening, producing several impressive saves to deny Southampton. He will be tested frequently by Brighton, who are averaging 4.9 shots on target per match in the Premier League.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt - Man Utd's defensive unit were given a torrid time for much of Thursday's encounter but De Ligt offered the most respectable performance in the backline. The Dutchman will have to keep close tabs on Pedro and potentially former Red Devil Danny Welbeck.

CB: Harry Maguire - Leny Yoro was given the runaround by Southampton's Kamaldeen Sulemana, with United desperately missing the assurance of Maguire in defence.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - Martinez appeared perfectly suited to featuring on the left-hand side of three centre-backs but has struggled under Amorim. The diminutive defender's lack of aerial authority has been exposed in recent weeks, too.

RM: Diogo Dalot - The Portuguese was suspended on Thursday having been sent off needlessly in the FA Cup last weekend. Amorim should restore his compatriot to the starting lineup, allowing Amad to push further forward.

CM: Christian Eriksen - Manuel Ugarte scored an own goal and produced a generally uninspiring performance against Southampton. Hooked after 54 minutes, he could be replaced by Eriksen, who managed an assist off the bench.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo - Mainoo was withdrawn even earlier than his midfield partner against Southampton. The youngster has produced hit-and-miss performances this term as he looks to follow up on a remarkable debut campaign.

LM: Noussair Mazraoui - Mazraoui produced a passable performance on Thursday and did at least win the bulk of his individual battles. He will be wary of some speedy opposition wingers this weekend, including Simon Adingra and Yankuba Minteh.

RF: Amad Diallo - So often United's saviour during a miserable season, Amad was on hand to bail the Red Devils out again midweek with a fine hat-trick.

ST: Joshua Zirkzee - Rasmus Hojlund endured a rotten evening against Southampton's usually porous defence and Zirkzee made an immediate impact after replacing his fellow centre-forward. Such a cameo could earn him a start against the Seagulls.

LF: Bruno Fernandes - Always full of endeavour and invention, producing impressive displays against Liverpool and Arsenal in recent outings. Another eye-catching performance against Brighton is needed this weekend.
