Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is placing the final touches on the starting lineup that will take the field against Leicester City on Sunday evening.

The Red Devils have had the upper hand over the struggling Foxes this season. In November, then-caretaker Man Utd boss Ruud van Nistelrooy led the team towards a 3-0 victory. As fate would have it, the former Dutch striker would end up replacing Steve Cooper who was sacked shortly afterwards after being denied the chance to join Ruben Amorim’s technical staff.

The two sides met in the FA Cup fourth round, with United prevailing yet again, albeit amidst controversial circumstances, with Harry Maguire nodding home a late winner while in clear offside position.

Speaking for the towering defender, he could be set to make a swift return to action against his former employers following a brief spell on the sidelines. The 32-year-old could slot in between Matthijs de Ligt and the ultra-impressive Ayden Heaven in the three-man backline.

Ayden Heaven to earn full Premier League debut?

The 18-year-old has already made his first Premier League outing against his former club Arsenal last week, but if he were to get the nod from the start, then it would mark his full debut in the English top-flight, just three days removed from his Europa League bow against Real Sociedad.

In addition to Maguire, Manuel Ugarte could also make his return to the starting lineup following a couple of weeks on the treatment table. The Uruguayan would thus combine with club captain Bruno Fernandes, thus allowing the reignited Casemiro the opportunity to catch his breath after a few solid outings.

With Patrick Dorgu still serving a ban, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui are the natural options for the wingback slots, while Alejandro Garnacho, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund should combine in the final third.

Man Utd predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Heaven; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot; Zirkzee, Garnacho; Hojlund.
