Manchester United could try their luck with Paulo Dybala once more as the club’s supporters are bracing themselves for a hot summer.

While many were hoping for a busy January that would give Ruben Amorim’s squad an important boost, the Red Army were left underwhelmed by the lack of newcomers. The Premier League giants only signed 20-year-old left-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce and 18-year-old central defender Ayden Heaven from Arsenal.

On the other hand, Marcus Rashford and Antony were sent out on loan to Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively, while Tyrell Malacia is currently finalising his transfer to PSV Eindhoven.

Nevertheless, Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy explained how the lack of activity in the winter will bear its fruits in the summer.

“United, working within very tight financial constraints and PSR limits, now have more scope to spend in the summer when they feel there are better opportunities to sign players that fit into their long-term plans. That will be the true test of their transfer business.”

Therefore, Man United supporters can expect a spending spree in the summer, and Fichajes.net claims Dybala could be one of the club’s main targets.

The 31-year-old is considered one of the greatest Serie A stars over the past decade or so, scoring 128 goals and providing 69 assists in Italy’s top tier while representing Palermo, Juventus and currently Roma.

The Red Devils came very close to signing the Argentine from Juventus in the summer of 2019 on a swap deal that would have seen Romelu Lukaku heading to Turin, but the deal never materialised.

The 2022 World Cup winner is coming off a few injury-riddled campaigns, but has seemingly overcome his physical woes, so he’s been playing consistently this season, consolidating his status as Roma’s ultimate talisman.

Hence, Amorim could be enticed by the opportunity to add La Joya to his ranks, as he would certainly add some much-needed flair to the final third. With his contract expiring in 2026, Dybala could be available for a relatively low fee.
