According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester City are in advanced talks to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.
Since the start of the summer transfer window, it has been well documented that Marmoush has been attracting the interest of a number of Premier League sides.
Nottingham Forest were the first team to test Die Adler’s patience but were ultimately unable to get a deal over the line for the Egyptian international.
However, over the course of this season, Marmoush has been able to showcase himself as one of the most prized assets in European football, scoring 18 goals and collecting twelve assists in just 24 appearances for Frankfurt.
This had seen Liverpool and Arsenal linked with a possible move, but now it is understood that Manchester City are closing in on a deal for the 25-year-old.
As stated in the report, talks are advanced on Marmoush’s side, but he has yet to give the green light on the deal.
While the 25-year-old is believed to be happy in Frankfurt, a move to Manchester City opens up a unique opportunity that he is said to not want to miss out on.
Frankfurt will demand up to €60 million for Marmoush’s signature, with the Citizens ready to offer the forward a long-term deal until 2029 or 2030.
