Officials at Manchester City are preparing their first offer to Eintracht Frankfurt for Omar Marmoush, having made the Egyptian forward their primary target this month.

It is the first of two markets in which the Premier League champions are widely expected to undergo a major overhaul of their first-team options, feeling as though Pep Guardiola’s current squad has reached the natural end of its cycle.

While new names and faces will no doubt create the most excitement amongst supporters in the coming weeks and months, there are certainly plenty of big decisions to be made over the futures of existing squad members.

They include the futures of the likes of Kyle Walker, John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish, and perhaps most notably, Kevin De Bruyne – who is into the final six months of his current City deal, alongside the aforementioned German midfielder.

And it comes as no surprise to understand that much of Manchester City’s current focus revolves around refreshing their creative and attacking ranks, perhaps bracing themselves for life without some of the players listed.

Now, according to the information of The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, Manchester City are preparing an opening offer to Eintracht Frankfurt for Omar Marmoush and will make an agreement for the Egyptian forward their ‘first priority’ this month.

It is revealed that talks between the two clubs are likely to start in the next week, with Manchester City hoping that the 25-year-old will be their first deal before turning attentions to other areas in Pep Guardiola’s squad, including centre-back and central midfield.

While Eintracht Frankfurt would ideally like to keep Omar Marmoush for the rest of the ongoing season, The Telegraph reports that the player is valued at around £50 million and personal terms involving Manchester City would not be expected to be a huge obstacle.

Marmoush is among the most prolific goalscorers and creators in European football at present, recording a staggering 18 goals and 12 assists across his 24 appearances in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt at the halfway stage of the season.

In the Bundesliga alone, the versatile forward has scored 13 goals and provided eight assists so far, leaving Frankfurt in third position in the German top-flight and certainly dreaming of a place in the UEFA Champions League for next season.

However, much of their hopes will certainly revolve around their ability to retain key players this month, but with Marmoush’s desires seemingly set on a move to the Etihad Stadium, the club may simply have to secure the best deal possible and focus on strengthening once more.
