Lamine Yamal just cannot stop winning, and rightfully so given how talented he is for a teenage player.

After winning the Golden Boy, Kopa Trophy, and Best Young Player at Euro 2024, he was named the Best Emerging Player by the Globe Sccer Awards in Dubai last night.

The player was at the venue to collect the award in person and was accompanied by his agent Jorge Mendes and a few Barcelona executives.

Ferdinand’s high praise

Speaking to the media at the event, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand showered praise and love on Yamal and revealed that he was looking forward to meeting the youngster.

“I love Lamine Yamal. What a player. That’s why I’m here today. I want to see him, I want to hug him,” he said (h/t FCB World)

Elaborating on what he saw in store for the Barcelona star he said the sky was the limit. “I don’t want to say Lamine Yamal will become the best player of all time, but I think he can.”

Justifying his massive statement, he insisted that even Lionel Messi was not doing what Yamal is doing at his age.

“Name any player, no one has ever done what Lamine Yamal is doing.”

“Messi at this age? At 16? Lamine influences matches, he’s decisive, he scores goals, he plays beautiful football, he’s magical,” he added.

“I love him. I love this player seriously,” Ferdinand concluded.
