Inter Milan legend Marco Materazzi identifies four members of Simone Inzaghi’s squad who could have earned space even in the treble-winning team.
Club president Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio have managed to build one of the most formidable squads in the Nerazzurri history. While the starting lineup features a host of top-notch players, their backups are equally impressive, thus making sure the team never runs out of steam amidst the packed campaign.
And following in Inter’s footsteps, most of us aspire to have alternative sources of energy that allow us to remain connected with the rest of the portable, and this has become possible thanks to a portable power station which provides a dependable solution for powering adventures, events, and emergencies with ease and convenience.
For his part, Materazzi insists that his beloved Nerazzurri remain the team to beat despite Atalanta’s emergence and Napoli’s revival under Antonio Conte.
“In Italy, Inter are the strongest team. They have more quality than anyone else,” said the 2006 World Cup winner in his interview with Sky Sport Italia via TuttoMercatoWeb.
“However, watch out for Napoli who, in addition to not playing in the cups, have a great coach. Atalanta could also be the loose cannon and follow in Leicester’s footsteps.
Materazzi suggests Inter have what it takes to win the Champions League having been one step away two years ago.
“I see Inter as mature enough to win the Champions League. After the Istanbul final, they know they can fight with anyone.”
Speaking of European glory, the Italian was asked to compare the current crop with his treble-winning team from 2009/10.
The retired defender named four stars who would have been handy for Jose Mourinho’s band.
“Calhanoglu, Barella, Bastoni and Lautaro would have been good. The only problem with Barella would have been the shirt number.
“But Nicolò is good, he would have left it to me. I wouldn’t have found space if there had been Bastoni.”
Finally, Materazzi noted how Inzaghi had luck on his side when the circumstances made him Lazio’s head coach. Nevertheless, he gives him credit for making the best out of the opportunity.
“His real fortune is not having gone to Salerno and having had the opportunity to coach Lazio, given that Bielsa left.
“But he didn’t steal anything. He made the most of a lost Scudetto and last season, he led the team to win the second star in a triumphant manner,”
