Micah Richards gushes about ‘exceptional’ Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton | OneFootball

Crystal Palace earned a 1-0 win against Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday at Selhurst Park, and Gary Lineker thinks the Eagles could enjoy a “special season” under Oliver Glasner.

The Eagles have picked up four wins in a row, and they climbed to 11th in the league table. Ismaila Sarr scored the only goal of the match in an evenly contested game, and Lineker has been left impressed.

Palace will have a long break now, and they will return to action again towards the end of the month when they face Fulham in the FA Cup quarterfinal.

On BBC Match of the Day, Micah Richards spoke about the Palace squad. The popular football pundit was full of praise for Adam Wharton and hailed him as an “exceptional” talent.

“They have got some good players,” said Richards.

“Joe [Hart] was talking about Henderson. Then Guehi. Wharton in midfield. He is exceptional. Obviously, he had an injury. He is now back to his best.”

Wharton was out for a long spell with a persistent groin injury and needed surgery.

The 21-year-old is a classy central midfielder who brings a lot of energy to the midfield, has great vision, and has superb technique.

Against Ipswich, Wharton produced an exquisite pass to Eddie Nketiah, who only managed to hit the goalkeeper. He is gradually coming back to his best towards the business end of the season, and is a key player for Palace.

Palace have got a strong bunch of players, and they should aim for a top-half finish this season. It will be a great season for them if they can reach the final of the FA Cup.
