Milan still hope to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, but several sources in Italy claim Barcelona are strongly interested in the Englishman, so the Rossoneri could get defensive reinforcement instead by getting Kyle Walker.

Milan are still waiting for a response from Rashford after his agent met Manchester United directors on Wednesday.

The Rossoneri are ready to welcome the England international on loan with part of his salary paid by the Red Devils.

However, the 27-year-old has yet to decide which clubs he wants to join this month, so the Rossoneri are waiting for a final decision.

Gazzetta and Tuttosport report Barcelona are pushing to get the Englishman this month, and even Milan have not given an ultimatum to Rashford; they are also looking at other potential targets.

Both newspapers claim the Rossoneri are once again considering a move for Walker, as the Manchester City right-back wants to move abroad this month.

According to Gazzetta, Manchester City can release Walker for free, while Milan could spread his €6m-a-year salary onto a longer deal as Walker’s contract at the Etihad Stadium runs out in 2027.

Walker and Rashford clearly play in different roles, but Milan can only sign one of them this month having just one slot for non-EU players available.
