La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Milan won’t offer Theo Hernandez an extension, which means he’ll leave in the summer or at the end of his contract in 2026.

Theo Hernandez is destined to leave Milan, whether in the summer or as a free agent at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Thursday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Rossoneri have decided against offering Theo a new contract after the Frenchman received an avoidable red against Feyenoord, contributing to their Champions League exit. Theo received a second yellow card for diving in the second half, with the Diavoli leading 1-0.

Contract talks between the two parties have been ongoing for several months, but the player’s overall performances this season mean Milan won’t offer him a contract extension with a pay rise.

The French defender apologised to fans and teammates on Wednesday, but this won’t change his future at San Siro. Gazzetta had already reported that the club could fine Theo.

Milan had reportedly accepted a Como offer for Theo in the January transfer window, but the Frenchman refused to join the Azzurri.

The Rossoneri must hope other clubs will knock on Theo’s door over the summer; otherwise, they will be prepared to let him go as a free agent in one year.
