January signing Santiago Gimenez has only scored three times for Milan, which means the Rossoneri have paid over €9m for each goal since his transfer.
Mexico international Gimenez has been struggling to justify his price tag at San Siro in the second part of the campaign, despite a convincing start with the Diavoli.
Gimenez joined Milan in an €28.5m deal plus add-ons from Feyenoord in the winter transfer window.
The 23-year-old scored a goal in each of his first two Serie A appearances in February, plus one goal against his former club Feyenoord in the Champions League.

As reported by Gazzetta, Milan have spent €9.5m for each goal scored by their most expensive January signing.
The Mexican hasn’t found the net for Milan for over one month and recently lost his starting spot under Sergio Conceiçao.
Tammy Abraham started in the last three competitive matches against Napoli, Fiorentina (Serie A), and Inter (Coppa Italia).
According to Calciomercato.com, Gimenez’s relationship with his coach is not ideal, and the pair even argued before last week’s Coppa Italia derby against Inter.
Gimenez is still part of Milan’s project even if, according to Gazzetta, the Rossoneri are keeping a close eye on Udinese forward Lorenzo Lucca for 2025-26.
