AC Milan Primavera left it very late in the day, but they ultimately did claim a share of the spoils against Club Brugge in the UEFA Youth League.

In truth, Federico Guidi’s side had not started their European campaign in the best way having drawn 0-0 with Liverpool at home in round one before losing 3-1 against Bayer Leverkusen in their second game earlier in the month.

That meant there was some pressure coming into Tuesday afternoon’s game at the PUMA House of Football, and at half-time it was dialled up even more as Club Brugge led. A bad back pass by Stalmach was seized by Furo who got around Pittarella to tuck into an empty net.

The Rossoneri had a number of chances to draw level and just as hope was beginning to die, they got an equaliser in the fifth minute of added time. A cross from the right by Comotto was headed in by Ossola, sparking scenes of relieved celebration.

Moments later, a remarkable comeback was nearly completed as Albè went on a charge down the wing and cut it back for Ossola, who controlled in the area and shot with his left, but the Belgian goalkeeper De Corte somehow turned it behind.

It was important to get another point on the board given that Real Madrid await next, and the way it came about will leave a positive feeling, one that shows to never give up.
