MN: Form between breaks shows Milan’s only consistency is inconsistency

AC Milan fell to a 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina last night at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and it means they will go into another international break licking their wounds.

As MilanNews recall, in September just before the first international break we were talking about a horror start to the season for Milan, and now in October we are still talking about a very negative start to the season, despite the Rossoneri having won the derby and two other league matches.

If playing at San Siro helps the team concentrate, when they leave their home stadium things seem to fall apart, as the 2-1 defeat away against Parma, the 2-2 draw against Lazio, the 1-0 loss against Bayer Leverkusen and last night’s game in Florence shows.

The report adds how the situation seems difficult to straighten out. The pattern already seems seems clear: Fonseca’s Milan, judging from what we see now on the pitch between play and attitude, will win a couple of games in a row, then lose again, then draw, then maybe win again.

It is an infinite loop that will be exhausting and it is what will hold them back from challenging for trophies. The only consistency for Milan – and this stretches back to the end of Stefano Pioli’s tenure – is inconsistency.
