He scored against Frankfurt and Adi Hütter

After three seasons developing with the reserve team, he was promoted to the first team in August 2019. The 1.89m defensive midfielder made his debut shortly afterward in an Allianz Cup (Portuguese League Cup) match against Feirense.

Thirteen days later, he played his first game in the Portuguese first division (Liga Portugal Betclic) against Boavista. On December 12, during the UEFA Europa League group stage, he scored his first goal for the “Conquistadores” in a 3-2 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt, then managed by Adi Hütter.

After three seasons at Vitória Guimarães (55 appearances), including a loan spell at Rio Ave during the second half of the 2019-2020 season, Moatasem Al-Musrati joined Sporting Clube de Braga in the summer of 2020.

More than 150 matches with Braga

Over four seasons (2020-2024), he played 151 matches, scored 15 goals, and provided 8 assists. With the “Archbishops,” he netted his first goal on November 26 against Leicester City (3-3), once again in the UEFA Europa League group stage. With Braga, he won the Portuguese Cup in 2021 against Benfica (2-0), marking the club’s third triumph in the competition, as well as the Allianz Cup in 2023 against Estoril Praia, their second-ever title in the tournament after 2013.

He played a key role in Braga’s strong performances, reaching the finals of the Allianz Cup and Portuguese Super Cup in 2021, the Portuguese Cup final in 2023, and the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals in 2022, eliminating AS Monaco in the Round of 16.

An experienced player in Europe

During his time at Braga, the club consistently finished in the top four of the league, notably securing third place in 2022-2023, earning a UEFA Champions League qualification. The following season, he faced prestigious clubs such as Real Madrid and Napoli in the competition.

After four seasons at the club, he made a permanent move to Beşiktaş JK in July 2024, having initially joined on loan in February. With the Turkish club, he played 38 matches and scored 3 goals.

On the international stage, Moatasem Al-Musrati has earned 38 caps and scored 2 goals for Libya. He was also part of the team that won the 2014 African Nations Championship, the only major title in Libya’s history.

Now, Moatasem Al-Musrati will wear the Rouge & Blanc jersey of AS Monaco, strengthening the midfield of the Principality’s club. Daghe Moatasem! 🇲🇨
