Monza CEO Adriano Galliani confirms that there have been talks about loaning Tomas Palacios with Inter Milan.
The Brianzoli executive spoke to reporters outside of the Lega Serie A headquarters, via FCInterNews. He admitted that there is “always chatter” in the transfer market.
Monza have been linked with Inter defender Palacios in recent weeks.
The 22-year-old joined Inter last summer. However, he has yet to start for the Nerazzurri.
Palacios has had a couple of appearances off the bench.
However, the young Argentine has yet to really carve out a place for himself in the team.
It would not exactly be a big surprise to see Inter decide to loan Palacios out this month.
The priority would be to find a club for the Argentine to get more playing time at.
As things stand, Tomas Palacios has not had many opportunities to get on the pitch. That has hardly been ideal for his development.
And Monza are a club in need of defensive reinforcements. They are looking to bolster their squad for the second half of the season, which sees them right in the middle of the relegation scrap.
And the Brianzoli would be able to offer Palacios the chance to play in Serie A.
Since coming up the the Italian top flight at the start of the 2022-23 season, Monza have shown a willingness to place their faith in young players.
Regarding his club’s links with Palacios, Monza CEO Adriano Galliani admitted that “there have been discussions with Inter.
“There’s been chatter this month,” the Brianzoli executive added.
“It’s like a festival for the clubs’ transfer operators. We’re all here at Milan, at the hotels and restaurants.”
Galliani further hinted that “it’s all dynamic [in the January transfer window,] something’s happening every day.”
