Álvaro Morata’s time at Milan is already over and he will look to do better.
After winning the EURO with Spain in the summer, Morata joined Milan in July to be a leader of the new Diavolo, but after just half a season (and a bad one) in Red and Black the player finds himself leaving.
Morata never really convinced as a starting striker for Milan, scoring just 5 league goals in 16 appearances for the Diavolo and 1 goal in 7 Champions League matches.
Galatasaray found interest in Álvaro and quickly found an agreement with Milan and with the player. He already said goodbye to his teammates at Milanello and is expected in Turkey later tonight.
According to Sky, he joins them on loan with an obligation to buy; the loan deal is currently until the end of the season but may be extended until 2026 – in either case Galatasaray are obligated to buy him, either this year or next year. As reported by TMW and Milannews.it, Milan will receive €10 million plus €3m in bonuses, figures that will allow the club to avoid a capital loss as the value of the former Juve player on the balance sheet is €9.75 million.
Morata’s place in the squad, and in the starting XI, will be filled by Santiago Giménez who will tomorrow join the club. Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham will start in the Derby on Sunday evening.
