Garnacho Attracts Napoli Interest Amid Premier League Exit Talk

Napoli’s summer rebuild is gathering pace, and among the names on Antonio Conte’s wishlist is Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho. As reported by Tutto Mercato, the Argentine winger is of serious interest to the Serie A side, who could return with a new approach for a player they admired in January.

Garnacho Identified as Key Target

United’s valuation of Garnacho – initially €60 million – was enough to cool Napoli’s winter interest. However, Tutto Mercato now report that “in June the operation could be done on a different basis, compared to the 60 million requested in January by Manchester United. At 45 an agreement could be reached but it is clear that the final choice will have to find everyone in agreement, club and coach.”

Conte is understood to rate Garnacho highly and is looking for dynamic wide players to fit into his revamped Napoli side. With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia departing for a reported €75 million in January, funds are available for reinvestment, and Garnacho could be seen as a high-upside replacement.

United’s Transfer Landscape Could Shift

Manchester United’s stance on Garnacho may well be influenced by broader squad changes this summer. With uncertainty surrounding several areas of the team and new figures like Jason Wilcox and potentially Dan Ashworth involved in football operations, player valuations and squad roles could be re-assessed.

Should Napoli be willing to table a €45 million bid, United may weigh up the financial gain versus the long-term potential of Garnacho, who has shown flashes of brilliance but remains raw in several areas. His pace, directness and flair are attributes that fit Napoli’s blueprint under Conte – particularly in a league where tactical fluidity is prized.

Juventus Planning Quietly Ambitious Summer

While Napoli’s targets make the headlines, Juventus continue to work methodically behind the scenes. According to Tutto Mercato, they’ve already tied up deals for Kalulu and Kelly, each costing €14 million. There’s confidence too around extensions for loanees Kolo Muani and Renato Veiga, with the former’s arrangement potentially including a €50 million purchase clause.

Vlahovic’s expected exit and Milik’s contract running down leave Juventus in search of new firepower. Osimhen remains the dream signing, though Premier League interest and a €75 million release clause may complicate matters. Mateo Retegui and Lorenzo Lucca are both under consideration, as is Lille’s Jonathan David, though his wage demands are reportedly high.

Napoli’s Multi-Pronged Strategy

Alongside Garnacho, Napoli are monitoring several alternatives. “The Zhegrova hypothesis remains strong,” notes Tutto Mercato, while Feyenoord’s Igor Paixão is emerging as a more cost-effective option at €25 million. Conte’s midfield is also being reshaped, with Gabri Veiga, Sudakov, Frattesi, and Pellegrini all linked.

Outgoings are expected too. Ngonge and Billing’s futures remain undecided, while Okafor is set for a Milan return and Marin is likely to depart. Conte appears determined to craft a squad that reflects his vision, with explosive wide play and depth in midfield as key areas of focus.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

The idea of selling Garnacho sparks real debate. He’s one of the few players who injects energy, unpredictability and genuine attacking fear into opposition defences. His development has not been perfect – decision-making and tracking back still need refining – but the ceiling is high.

Yet, €45 million is not an insignificant offer, especially for a squad undergoing transition. If Garnacho is not guaranteed to be a cornerstone under new management or structure, selling to reinvest elsewhere might make strategic sense.

Napoli under Conte could be a smart move for the player too. Serie A is a tactically rich environment, and Conte has a proven record of developing wide players. If United aren’t offering him a prominent role, fans would understand his motivation to seek regular minutes elsewhere – even if it stings to see his talent flourish abroad.
