Manchester United are embarking on a new chapter under Ruben Amorim and have no plans to reunite with Paul Pogba.

Many reports touted that Pogba would return to Carrington for training after mutually terminating his contract with Juventus.

The reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on those stories.

He wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Reports of Paul Pogba set to train at Manchester United’s Carrington are not true. Pogba is not planning to train at any club as he’s working in Miami on daily basis.

“No contacts with United.”

Some United supporters were excited by the prospect of Paul Pogba returning to Carrington, believing it could mirror the situation with Jonny Evans.

Evans initially returned to the club to train but was later offered a contract to rejoin United.

He has been a great servant and one of the most successful signings under Erik ten Hag’s watch.

The return of Pogba could excite a few fans but it is not a sustainable plan.

It would have been a surprise if INEOS and Amorim had allowed Pogba to return to the senior team.

The midfielder was handed a four-year doping ban but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his punishment to 18 months.

He can now resume playing from next March.

A series of injuries, inconsistent form, and off-field issues hindered Pogba’s path to becoming the footballing legend he was once tipped to be in his early career.
