Nottingham Forest are set to sign Aberdeen starlet Lewis Carrol in the ongoing window, according to The Athletic.

16-year-old defender Carrol is a player in Aberdeen’s academy set-up and has been very highly regarded in Scotland.

Several Premier League outfits have been monitoring his progress at Aberdeen for the last two years.

The 16-year-old has featured twice in the UEFA Youth League for the Dons’ development side.

Nottingham Forest are keen to take Carrol south of the border and add him to their academy set-up.

Now the Dons are set to lose the highly rated Carrol to Nottingham Forest as the player is set to join them.

Forest plan to help the young defender aid in his development so that he can break into their first team.

Carrol is not the only young defender leaving the Dons in this window, as Timothy Akindileni is also set to join Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.
