FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against CA Osasuna shortly. Considering just how tight the La Liga title race is currently, Hansi Flick’s team cannot afford to drop points here. However, Barcelona know exactly how dangerous Osasuna can be if they are not taken seriously.
Last time out, La Blaugrana ended up losing to this exact opponent. For that reason, even with some expected rotations, Barcelona know that they must do better than last time. However, with a massive game against SL Benfica coming up soon as well, Flick had to make certain changes.
Here is the official starting lineup for Barcelona against CA Osasuna.
In goal, Wojciech Szczesny retains his place as the team’s starting goalkeeper. With his exceptional unbeaten record with the team still being intact, he comes into this game with a massive performance against Benfica in his last outing and he will surely be hoping to continue that here.
Ahead of him, Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia form the centre-back partnership. While Cubarsi did get a red card in the Champions League recently and is now set to miss the next game in the competition, he is completely eligible to play in La Liga and Flick seems to want to take advantage of that.
On their flanks, Gerard Martin and Jules Kounde are the two starting fullbacks for Barcelona in this game. With a lot of running expected of them in this game, they will need to be alert both offensively and defensively during the game.
Over in the midfield, Marc Casado and Gavi will form the two-man pivot. They will need to show physicality against Osasuna, but will also be counted on to showcase their technical ability and creativity as well.
In front of them, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha occupy the wings of the Barcelona attack. Between them, Dani Olmo will be reprising his role as the team’s primary central attacking midfielder right behind the centre-forward.
Up top, Ferran Torres is set to start as the team’s primary centre-forward. He will need to constantly apply pressure on the Osasuna backline and make them uncomfortable, but most importantly, he will need to make sure that he converts his chances.
