Official: Real Madrid squad list to face Rayo Vallecano – two big absences | OneFootball

Real Madrid will face off against Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga in a few hours, hoping to reduce the gap between them and leaders FC Barcelona.

Ahead of the contest at their home, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has announced the squad list of players available at his disposal for the game.

There are two notable absences from the squad as first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and key defender Antonio Rudiger have been left out.

Rudiger’s involvement was already in doubt after he did not train with the rest of the group on Saturday due to illness. Courtois’ absence, however, comes as a surprise.

In the Belgian’s unavailability, Andriy Lunin is expected to start in goal while Sergio Mestre and Fran Gonzalez will be on the bench.

Another big news is that Jude Bellingham is back in the squad after missing the last two matches due to suspension.

Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Dani Ceballos, and Jesus Vallejo all miss out through injuries.
