Over the years, Paris Saint-Germain have had their share of high-profile attacking players, but none accomplished what Ousmane Dembélé did on Saturday.
The 2018 World Cup champion continued his stellar 2025 campaign with yet another hat trick for Les Parisiens this weekend, his second in successive matches across all competitions.
In doing so he achieved some that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kylian Mbappé (26) or Edinson Cavani (37) could do during their time in the French capital, netting a hat trick in consecutive competitive fixtures. Dembélé became the first player in club history to do that in their 5-2 Ligue 1 victory over Stade Brestois. That came just a few days after he bagged three in their 4-1 UEFA Champions League triumph over VfB Stuttgart.
The Frenchman has been in a rich vein of form for the Ligue 1 leaders since the beginning of the year, with 11 goals in just seven matches played in 2025.
He has 14 strikes in his last eight competitive fixtures with PSG, a remarkable feat when considering his previous best full season for goals scored was in 2018-19 for FC Barcelona (14).
His hat trick on Saturday made him the leading goalscorer in Ligue 1 (14 goals), with two more goals than Jonathan David (25) and Mason Greenwood (23).
Dembélé’s 14 goals in the French top-flight this season have come in only 18 appearances, while he’s also netted four times in six Champions League affairs.
Since failing to find the back of the net in a 2-1 domestic victory over RC Lens in mid-January, the French winger has scored in six consecutive matches across all competitions.
