Ousmane Dembele is in his second season with Paris Saint-Germain after leaving FC Barcelona two years ago. There were some concerns when he arrived, mainly about his injury history, but so far, staying healthy hasn’t been a problem in the French capital.

In his first three years with PSG, Dembele has stayed injury-free. Ligue 1 is known for its physicality, which is one of the reasons Neymar Jr. struggled with injuries during his time in Paris. So, it’s not like Dembele is now playing in a less demanding league.

Moreover, staying healthy has allowed the Frenchman to reach his full potential as he’s recorded 32 goals and 10 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s second-leg clash with Aston Villa, Dembele spoke to the media. One question he was asked was about injury issues that plagued him at Barcelona, which have disappeared since moving to France.

“I had a lot of physical setbacks at Barcelona,” Dembele said (h/t Canal Supporters). “But then, I had a lot of people who helped me and who now work at PSG. I changed a lot of things when it comes to injury prevention, and it’s paid off.

“Now, I feel really good physically and in my personal life too. I try to enjoy myself on the pitch—even if I’m not a big fan of physical training (smiles), I try to do it because I know it helps me perform better.”
