Paris Saint-Germain’s quest to win a maiden Champions League title continues at Arsenal this evening.
The French champions face Arsenal in the first leg of their semi-final showdown at the Emirates. PSG have reached this stage for the second successive season and are aiming to eliminate a third Premier League team from the competition. Luis Enrique’s side knocked out Liverpool in the Round of 16, before ousting Aston Villa in the previous round.
However, PSG come into the contest on the back of defeat. The Parisians lost 3-1 to Nice at the weekend, their first defeat of the Ligue 1 campaign. Though already confirmed as champions, it ended hopes of completing French football’s first unbeaten season.
Arsenal upset the odds to thrash Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals. The Gunners are into just their third Champions League semi-final. Like PSG, Arsenal are aiming for a maiden success this season.
Luis Enrique has been blessed with an injury-free squad in recent weeks and is again set to have all of his options available at the Emirates.
Arguably the biggest call will be who joins Ousmane Dembele in attack. The Frenchman is in the midst of a career-best campaign and has 32 goals and 12 assists across all competitions. Demele will lead the line again for PSG and will be flanked by two of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue. It’s a squad stacked with attacking talent.
Paris Saint-Germain predicted XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Ruiz, Vitinha, Neves; Barcola, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia.
Arsenal take on Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday 29th April 2025. Kick-off at the Emirates is 20:00 BST.
The game will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime Video.
