Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has called the final two games of the season and predicts whether Chelsea get Champions League.
The news comes after Chelsea went down 2-0 against Newcastle United away from home on Sunday lunch time in a crucial game for the race for Champions League football next season.
Chelsea needed to win this game as much as Newcastle did, but a first half sending off by Nicolas Jackson did not help their cause. Enzo Maresca has admitted that Jackson now needs to learn from this situation moving forward.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher now believes that Chelsea have a big problem after this defeat with just two games remaining of the season and the reality being that The Blues need two wins to guarantee a place in the Champions League for next season.
It’s literally impossible to call how the top five will now look after the next two games and final league fixtures. Chelsea have two tough games coming up against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
But there are other teams in the race too who have to get results now and the top five could still end up looking very different to what it looks now.

Paul Merson, speaking to Sky Sports today, backs Aston Villa to get Champions League football but actually throws doubts around Chelsea and Manchester City.
Merson says:
“You look at Aston Villa, they probably have the two easiest games in the Premier League left. Villa will definitely get in the Champions League for me. The only thing is Chelsea have to go and win at Forest.
“I see Villa with 69 points whatever happens. I see Chelsea winning Friday night, then they have to beat Forest.”
