The 19-year-old Paul Wanner will initially return to Bayern after a successful loan spell at Heidenheim. The Germany U21 midfielder is expected to leave once again with another loan deal next season.

"I think I've been able to take a lot with me,” said Wanner about his spell at Heidenheim. Against his former club Elversberg, Wanner assisted Leo Scienza’s winner to keep Heidenheim in top-flight football. Despite losing his starting role in the crucial stage of the season, he also scored 10 goals in 41 appearances.

I would have liked to have played more. But, in the end, the coach always makes the decision, and you have to find as many arguments as possible to play.”
