The latest round of fixtures in La Liga saw one player continue to state his case as the early frontrunner to scoop the Pichichi prize.

The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.

Veteran frontman Lewandowski is of course fresh off an outing to remember over the weekend, which saw the Pole rack up all three of Barcelona’s goals in a comfortable downing of Deportivo Alavés.

This took his tally for the Spanish top-flight campaign to a hefty 10 goals in nine appearances.

From here, there is a considerable drop-off down to 2nd place in the top-scorer charts, where Villarreal’s Ayoze Pérez sits alone on six goals.

Now a full five goals off the pace, meanwhile, is Real Madrid summer signing Kylian Mbappé, who failed to add to his tally in Los Blancos’ 2-0 victory over Villarreal.

Also sitting at five goals is Barcelona standout Raphinha, alongside Real Betis summer signing Giovani Lo Celso.

And a further goal back on four are the likes of Lamine Yamal, Vinícius Jr, and Iago Aspas.
