Predicted Manchester United XI vs Brentford: Ruben Amorim to field heavily rotated side

Ruben Amorim has already said he will rest players such as Noussair Mazraoui for today’s Premier League match-up against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Despite a 3 goal advantage over Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-final after an impressive first-leg display, Amorim will take no chances in the second leg and will want his strongest team available.
As a result, many expected the likes of Jaydan Kamason and Sekou Koné to get a chance today, but they were not in the travelling squad, indicating that senior players will still be given the nod.
However, that is not to say that Amorim won’t heavily rotate his starting XI.
Andre Onana may be given a rest, with Altay Bayindir replacing him in goal.
Matthijs de Ligt is returning from injury so will likely get the first hour or so, with Harry Maguire rested after his joyful Lamine Yamal impression on Thursday.
Leny Yoro may also join Maguire and Mazraoui on the “rested” list, so Victor Lindelof and either Luke Shaw or Tyler Fredricson should complete the back three.
Ayden Heaven and Lisandro Martinez are still injured. Jonny Evans was not named in the travelling squad.
Amad is another star working his way back to fitness so he too could be given the first hour in the right wing back position. Harry Amass might get another chance at LWB.
Dio Dalot is still injured while Patrick Dorgu will probably be rotated.
In central midfield, Casemiro and Manu Ugarte could be given a breather, with Kobbie Mainoo and Christian Eriksen coming in.
Toby Collyer is close to fitness but was not named in the 21-man selection.
Bruno Fernandes has an amazing engine and appetite for minutes, so he could well play in a front three with Chido Obi and Mason Mount.
Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund may be rested, while Josh Zirkzee is out for the season with a thigh injury.
With all that in mind, here is our predicted starting XI for this afternoon’s 2pm kick off:
