Dutch side Feyenoord are the latest club to express interest in midfielder Cesare Casadei ahead of the January window according to reports.
Chelsea paid an initial £12.6m to Inter Milan for the midfielder in 2022, but opportunities in the first team have been few and far between.
Casadei has had loan spells at both Reading and Leicester, but was linked with a move away in the summer, although he ended up staying at Stamford Bridge.
The Italy U21 international revealed it was his decision to remain at the club, but given his lack of game time there’s a possibility he might regret that choice.
Casadei hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League and has only made the match day squad on two occasions, and has had to make do with minutes in the cup competitions.
The 21-year-old has started two of Chelsea’s three games in the league phase of the Conference League and appeared from the bench in the other, whilst he played the full 90 minutes against Barrow in the Carabao Cup.

Casadei has recently spoken of how proud he is to be at the club and that he’s not thinking about leaving in January, but that’s not stopped reports linking him with an exit.
The Italian was recently linked with a loan move to Real Betis, whilst there’s also thought to be interest from Villarreal.
However, according to Tutto Mercato Web Dutch side Feyenoord are the latest club to join the race for the former Inter man.
The report states Feyenoord are ready to try and convince the player to make the switch to the Eredivisie to continue his development.

It’s clear that opportunities are going to be few and far between for Casadei at Chelsea and if he wants to develop as a player then getting a few minutes here and there in cup competitions isn’t the ideal scenario.
It appears a loan in January could be best for all parties ahead of what feels like an inevitable permanent sale next summer.
