As a Tottenham Hotspur fan, I’ve grown accustomed to the emotional turmoil that comes with supporting this club. From the occasional highs of thrilling victories to the all-too-frequent lows of watching things fall apart, being a Spurs supporter is a constant test of patience. And, as if our backline wasn’t already causing enough stress, Radu Drăgușin has entered the scene only to add more to our misery.

When Spurs secured Drăgușin’s signature, there was cautious optimism. The young Romanian center-back had built a reputation as a promising talent, showing glimpses of defensive resilience during his time at Genoa and Juventus. However, his transition to the Premier League has been anything but smooth.
From the moment he stepped onto the pitch for Spurs, Drăgușin has struggled to make an impact. His positioning has often been suspect, his decision-making questionable, and his overall contribution to the defense uninspiring. Rather than reinforcing our backline, he’s inadvertently become a liability, leaving fans wondering if he was truly the right addition to the squad.

As if his performances weren’t already disappointing enough, Drăgușin has now found himself sidelined with a knee injury. In our recent 3-0 Europa League win over Elfsborg, he managed to pick up the injury shortly after coming on as a substitute.
Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Drăgușin will miss the upcoming Premier League clash against Brentford on February 2, 2025, adding to the growing list of injuries that have plagued the squad. Yes we did win the game, but the own goal did not help us in anyway. Thankfully Sarr was able to put one in at the 87′ minute. This situation has forced the club to consider making further defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window to compensate for our ongoing struggles
