RB Leipzig’s David Raum criticises Bayern Munich’s decision not to extend with Thomas Müller | OneFootball

RB Leipzig full-back David Raum was among the first to register a comment following the blockbuster news of Thomas Müller’s departure from Bayern Munich yesterday. Raum spoke to Sky Germany following his side’s Bundesliga victory over Hoffenheim. The left-back raved about his German national team colleague and wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion on the controversial decision from Bayern management.

“A few days ago, I said to my wife that I am really grateful to have been on the pitch with him,” Raum told Sky.  “I’m just happy that we have a footballer like that in Germany.

“I can only offer up my own opinion,” Raum continued. “If I were the club, I would keep him around as long as possible. It wouldn’t matter if it was on the pitch or on the bench. In my opinion, he is a great guy.

“Whether he’s off to the golf course or still playing a little football here and there, it’s definitely going to be weird not to see him in an FC Bayern jersey next year,” Raum concluded.
