Real Madrid boss Ancelotti provides Federico Valverde injury update ahead of | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Monday provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield star Federico Valverde.

Valverde, for his part, has not featured in any of Real Madrid’s last three fixtures across all competitions. This comes with the Uruguayan international struggling with a couple of niggling fitness issues.

Los Blancos of course toiled in the absence of their engine room standout on Saturday, en route to a 2-1 La Liga defeat at the hands of Real Betis.

It will in turn no doubt mark a source of concern for the club’s supporters to learn that Valverde, still, has not been given the medical green light for a return to competitive action.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of facing off with Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Carlo Ancelotti was asked for the latest on Valverde’s status.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to explain:

“Fede Valverde will train with us today but we will decide after if he plays tomorrow.”
