La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday been dealt a fresh setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that young defender Jacobo Ramón has picked up an injury.

As per a report from Marca, the blow in question – understood to be muscular in nature – was suffered during a training session earlier today.

And though Jacobo is not expected to be out of action for long, his injury serves in further highlighting the alarming situation at the heart of Real Madrid’s backline at present.

Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff are currently unable to call upon long-term absentee David Alaba, as well as Éder Militão, sent back to Spain’s capital by the Brazilian medical staff owing to a fitness concern.

In addition, one of Los Blancos’ emergency backup options, in Dani Carvajal, was this week struck down by an ACL tear.

Add to this a further ACL blow, suffered by youngster Joan Martínez back in August, and Real find themselves an Antonio Rüdiger injury away from a full-blown crisis at the back.
