Real Madrid XI vs Arsenal: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, injury latest for Champions League

Real Madrid will look to continue their push for a 16th Champions League title at the Emirates
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is facing a series of tricky selection decisions ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash away to Arsenal.
The Italian has a strong record against Arsenal, winning seven of his 13 career matches against the Gunners, but the odds are stacked against him as injuries pile up.
The goalkeeper position is under the microscope, as Thibaut Courtois, reportedly struggling with a cyst on his knee, has been named in the travelling squad after missing Madrid’s last three games, including the 2-1 loss to Valencia over the weekend.
Between the sticks on Saturday night was third-choice Fran Gonzalez, called up as Andriy Lunin was also sidelined. The 19-year-old did not make much of an impression, making no saves as Madrid’s title hopes dimmed slightly.
Courtois has trained ahead of travelling to London and should be set for a return to the starting lineup.
Also absent is the suspended Aurelien Tchouameni, who picked up his third booking of the Champions League campaign during the last-16 second-leg win over Atletico Madrid last time out.
Ancelotti is not spoiled for choice in defence following injuries to Ferland Mendy, Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, and Dani Ceballos, who spent two years on loan at the Emirates between 2019 and 2021 and will be denied a reunion with the Arsenal faithful.
Luka Modric, now 39 years old, could be called up to pull the strings in midfield, while Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, who have 51 goals between them so far this campaign, are likely to start up top.
Star man Jude Bellingham should also feature, facing Arsenal for the first time in his career.
Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Vazquez, Alaba, Rudiger, Garcia; Diaz, Modric, Valverde, Bellingham; Mbappe, Vinicius
Injured: Carvajal, Mendy, Ceballos, Carvajal, Militao
Suspended: Tchouameni
