Graham Potter has expressed his pride after West Ham produced a stunning away win at Arsenal.
There were not many in the game who were expecting anything other than a home win, however Potters side showcased an organised and well executed performance to all-but end the Gunners hopes of a Premier League title this season.
“I’m incredibly proud, and pleased for the supporters,” said the Hammers boss after the game, as reported by the clubs .
“The players gave everything, and left everything out on the pitch, which is what we’ve been trying to instil and encourage.
“When you do that, you’ve got a chance to get results. Talent is one thing, but it’s about being a team, and having a collective mentality. I think we showed that today in abundance.
“The players have shown it in training – they’ve been fantastic to work with every day – and it’s hard to say that when you’re not getting the right results, because that’s what people want to see at the end of the day.
“So, today is great because they’ve got the reward for their hard work, and that’s why I’m really proud.”
Potter was also full of praise for Ollie Scarles, who made his first Premier League start and produced an exceptional display, to the delight of all connected with the club.
“He trains hard every day, but he’s a great person as well,” added Potter. “He’s fully committed, loves the Club, loves the team, and he wants to play for West Ham.
“He’s got a lot going for him, and really his personality is really impressive. It’s a huge thank you to the Academy really, because they’ve helped us by developing a top player.”
