League of Ireland Champions Shelbourne FC face their first preseason friendly this weekend.

Damien Duff’s side will ramp up their preparations for the 2025 League of Ireland Premier Division campaign with seven pre-season games. The squad reported back to pre season training at the AUL before Christmas.

Preparation in recent days turned focus to on-pitch action as Damien Duff’s side prepare for the official curtain raiser to the season against Drogheda United in the President’s Cup on February 7th, and a mouth watering opening to the new League of Ireland season against Derry City a week later.

In preparation for the new campaign, the Champions will face a mix of premier and first division opposition, with double match days designed to get as many players minutes as possible.

First up for Duff’s side will be a meeting with Dundalk this Saturday, 11th January.

One week later, the Reds will host Waterford in the morning before facing Longford Town later that same day on Saturday, 18th January.

The following Saturday, 25th January, Shels will face Bray Wanderers at home in the morning and travel to face Wexford FC in the afternoon.

The final pre-season fixtures are set for Saturday, 1st February, when Shels take on Dundalk at home in the morning and travel to face Athlone Town in the afternoon.

Games unless otherwise advised will be played behind closed doors. Tickets are on sale now for games against Drogheda United on February 7th and Derry City on February 14th.
