The 17-year-old is widely regarded as one of the biggest prospects in South America at the moment, and it seems only a matter of time before he earns himself a big move.

As well as Real Madrid being keen on Mastantuono, it seems he also has strong interest from Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, according to Fichajes.

The report adds that the teenager has a €35m release clause in his River contract, which one imagines could end up looking like a bargain in the near future.

It remains to be seen who will end up being in pole position to land Mastantuono, with Fichajes also stating that there’s no formal offer on the table for him yet.

Mastantuono immediately comes across as just the type of signing Chelsea and Real Madrid have made a lot in recent times.

Both clubs have done well to snap up the world’s best young players, often from South American clubs.

Chelsea have the likes of Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez on their way to Stamford Bridge next season, while Real have recently signed Endrick, and previously the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.

Still, Arsenal could also be a good stage for Mastantuono, with Mikel Arteta doing a great job with a number of young players in recent years.

Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have come on leaps and bounds under Arteta, and Mastantuono could do well to look at the Emirates Stadium for the next step in his development.

Liverpool are also an exciting project, with Arne Slot doing a great job this season and perhaps looking like he could do with injecting something a bit different into his midfield.
