Inter Milan are leading the race to sign wantaway Man City defender Kyle Walker on loan.
This according to UK tabloid The Sun. They report that the contacts are already ongoing with the 34-year-old’s agent, and that a short-term deal could materialize soon.
Walker looks set to leave Manchester City this month.
The Englishman has been a stalwart for the Cityzens since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017.
However, Walker’s form has dropped off significantly this season.
Manchester City’s season as a whole has gone off the rails a bit in recent months. And a series of poor performances from Walker at the back certainly have not helped.
City coach Pep Guardiola admitted recently that Walker is keen on an exit.
The coach stated that Walker had told him that he wants to leave for a club outside the Premier League.
However, the question would be where Walker goes.
Immediately after Guardiola’s comments, there were links between the Englishman and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, The Sun claim that it could instead be Milan’s city rivals Inter who snap Walker up.
According to the English tabloid, Inter have been in contact with Walker’s representatives.
The Sun suggest that Walker’s aim would be to find form again and try to earn a place in the England squad for next year’s World Cup.
