Report: Milan inform Fonseca of sacking, Conceicao chosen | OneFootball

According to multiple reports, Milan informed Paulo Fonseca he was fired this evening and Sergio Conceicao will begin work on Monday with a contract potentially to June 2026.

It was one final insult to injury that the club did not speak with their coach before he attended the television interview with DAZN or the press conference at San Siro, forcing him to answer questions about the imminent sacking.

Sergio Conceicao had already agreed terms several hours before the 1-1 draw with Roma, so the decision had to all intents and purposes been made regardless of this result.

Sky Sport Italia report that former FC Porto coach Conceicao will be in the city of Milan on Monday morning to sign the contract, which is worth €1m in wages to June 2025.

There is also an option for the club to extend it to June 2026.

He will make his debut on the bench in Riyadh for the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against Juventus on Friday January 3.
