Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly unhappy with the club's failure to sign any new players so far in the January transfer window.
When Amorim joined the club, it was quickly revealed that United would have to sell players before they would be able to reinforce the squad but, despite longstanding rumours surrounding the futures of Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, there have yet to be any permanent departures from Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, the Manchester Evening News state Amorim wanted more of an active approach from the club to raise funds and bolster a squad which is labouring down in 13th and was recently described by the boss himself as the worst in club history.
It is even claimed that Amorim was not fully aware of the extent of United's financial issues when he joined the club, although different sources insist that is not the case and the head coach was given a full run-down of the situation before he agreed to join.
United have openly admitted to fans that they are on the cusp of breaching the Premier League's financial rules, which has greatly limited their ability to recruit new players.
However, talks are ongoing over potential reinforcements. A bid of €30m has been lodged for Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu, while United are also working to strike a deal for Arsenal teenager Ayden Heaven.
Funds could be raised by the sale of Alejandro Garnacho, who is of significant interest to Chelsea and could cost close to £60m. Recent reports have hinted at a swap deal which would bring Christopher Nkunku to Old Trafford in exchange.
