Sala states Milan are dependent on Leao after Udinese: “When Rafa flies, Milan fly”

Rafael Leao once again proved his importance to AC Milan this weekend, scoring and assisting against Udinese. Ultimately, it proves that there is still a player there to rely on.
This season has been substandard for many players, and Leao has often fallen into that category. Despite his brilliance, we have rarely seen him shine consistently for an extended period, and that has left Milan without a star on occasions.
However, against Udinese, he proved once again that he is still the right leader of this team – at least in terms of star power. The Portuguese was scintillating and played the game like someone of his level should.
As a result, Gianluigi Sala has stated that the Rossoneri cannot do without him, once again, and his words to Tuttosport have been relayed by Milan News.
“Are Milan Leao-dependent? Absolutely. When Rafa flies, Milan fly. Great champions cannot be ignored: just as Inter never give up Lautaro and Thuram in big games, the Rossoneri must do the same with Leao. He must always be a starter, because he makes the difference.”
In addition to this, the former defender also spoke about the Diavolo’s defensive situation.
“I like Gabbia and Pavlovic. I would start from them. They are still young and some mistakes of inexperience can happen, but I’m convinced that in the long run they can reach the top. I would give them confidence and above all continuity: only in this way can they impose themselves.”
